With a strong IP portfolio and partnerships with global technical and commercial leaders, we are shaping the quantum ecosystem of the future and driving meaningful impact across the entire industry.  Role Overview:  We are looking for a talented and highly motivated Thermal Characterization Engineer to join our growing team. You will be instrumental in supporting the delivery of our company’s ambitious technical roadmap. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in experimental physics, electrical engineering, or a related field, with experience in designing, implementing, and optimising thermal structures for quantum devices. Your work will directly contribute to improving the quality and scalability of our quantum processors.  * PhD or master’s degree in electrical engineering, Physics, or a related field. * Minimum2of years of experience in experimental research, particularly in cryogenic measurement of thermal structures, correlated areas. * Knowledge of Fundamentals of quantum mechanics. * Knowledge of Fundamentals of thermodynamics and superconductivity. * Proficiency in using and programming measurement instruments (e.g.,AWGs, FPGAs, oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analysers). * Demonstrated capability to independently design and execute experiments. * Proven ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships. * Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders, including students. * Proactive and keen learner. * Undertake specific research project/s and contribute to development of research activities. * Design and develop measurement setupsto characterize thermal structures for ourquantum devices, including cryogenic systems, microwave electronics, and data acquisition systems. * Perform detailed characterisation and analysis ofthe thermal structures, ensuring high precision and accuracy in measurements. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate measurement systems with quantum hardware and software. * Design, build, and maintain measurement apparatus. * Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to measurement systems and equipment. * Document experimental procedures, results, and findings in a clear and concise manner. * Support the dissemination of research outcomes through appropriate channels and outlets. * Assist with the supervision of research students in the research area where required. * Contribute to a positive team culture and foster a collaborative working environment.  Bonus if you have:  * Comprehensive knowledge of semiconductors and CMOS technology. * Knowledge on the quantum computing and/or gate-defined quantum dots. * Experience with cryogenic characterization of thermal structures. * Experience in thermal simulations. * Experience with low-temperature and cryogenic systems. * A front-row seat in a world-changing technology story — and the chance to help write it. * Immediate visibility: your work will ship, land, and matter. * A lean, ambitious team where people back each other and move fast. * The opportunity to tell the story of Australian deep tech on a truly global stage. * Stunning central Sydney CBD office with great amenities. * Paid time off to volunteer for causes you care about. * Eligibility to participate in our employee equity program.
