JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the VP of Finance, the Senior Accountant II will focus on managing the chart of accounts, overseeing account reconciliations, and taking ownership of more complex accounting projects. The Senior Accountant II will play a vital role in maintaining financial integrity, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing strategic support to leadership in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Fund EZ, Sage Intacct, or similar).
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
- Proven ability to lead projects and provide strategic financial insights.
- H.A.S. requires all staff to work on site.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required); CPA or equivalent professional designation preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a nonprofit setting.
- Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles (GAAP), financial reporting standards, and grant compliance.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
