The HCA provides unit support to patients, families and those providing service and/or care. Functions according to the job description for HCA in PACU. 1. Completion of Personal Support Worker or Healthcare Aide Certificate or nursing student with successful completion of all level 2 courses at McMaster University or nursing student with successful completion of all level 2 courses in McMaster University and Mohawk College collaborative program or nursing student with successful completion of all level 1 courses in the Mohawk College Diploma program 2.Current Heart and Stroke Foundation courses in CPR 3. Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role within a health care environment 4. Computer familiarity or willingness to learn computer skills as required 5. Demonstrated effective communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, teamwork skills 6. Demonstrated initiative and judgment appropriate for the position 7. Ability to accept assigned or delegated functions, set priorities and organize work accordingly. Ability to set priorities and organize work accordingly 8.
