We have a fantastic opportunity for a Welding Inspector to join the team, based on TeesWorks. This is a 6 month, fixed-term contract.
Our Nuclear & Infrastructure division has extensive experience in the specialist, highly regulated nuclear, transport (road and rail), process industries and power and energy sectors. Providing award winning design teams, utilising state-of-the-art design software and Tekla detailing facilities to offer customers value engineering. This gives a mix of proven success along with modern, innovative design and fabrication ideas to be able to provide a quality, specialised service to a growing market. They continue to set the bar high in their highly regulated market!
Vacancy Details
In the Welding Inspector position you be working on the C2078 - Orsted Hornsea 3 - Anode Cages to ensure that all welds and fabrications go out as per client requirements and standards.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Perform magnetic particle and ultrasonic testing on welded structures.
• Conduct detailed visual weld inspections, including 100% CSWIP-compliant inspections.
• Calibrate and maintain test equipment to ensure accuracy.
• Assess weld quality against standards and tolerances, identifying rework requirements and making decisions on minor repairs.
• Escalate significant quality issues outside tolerance to the Quality & Responsible Welding Coordinator.
• Inspect all welds before, during, and after welding to ensure compliance with procedures.
• Assess and review welder competency in accordance with ISO 9606 (initial assessment, 3-year recertification, and 6-month reviews).

Key Skills & experience

• Good standard of general education.
• CSWIP 3.0 Visual Welding Inspector certification.
• PCN Level 2 in Magnetic Particle Inspection.
• PCN Level 2 in Ultrasonic Inspection.
• Previous experience as a structural steel welder or fabricator.
• Strong understanding of welding standards, tolerances, and quality procedures.
