JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:

  • We are seeking a Geospatial Data Analys to support the U.S. Coast Guard’s Sextant Web Common Operating Picture (COP).
  • In this role, you will design, develop, and optimize geospatial data layers and applications that enhance mission awareness across all USCG command centers.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2 years experience developing products in ArcGIS or other COP programs

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • This role is restricted to U.S. person(s) (ie., U.S. citizens, permanent residents and other protected individuals under the immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3))

DESIRED SKILLS:

Responsibilities
  • Create and develop data layers that are fully functional and understandable to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Optimize Sextant Web Common Operating Picture (COP) that can be fielded by all USCG command centers to include boundaries, main missions, and joint operations.
  • Create technical notes that are complete and understandable to technical and nontechnical stakeholders with references, illustrations, and examples detailing the scripts that have been deployed along with descriptions of their interactions.
  • Develop and provide multiple maritime layers that are adapted for each USCG District mission.
  • Curate external data that supplements internal Sextant/Coast Guard data as needed, linking data sets and other maritime platforms to Sextant’s COP web map.
  • Create descriptive and thorough geospatial item descriptions and appropriate metadata that are fully functional and understandable to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Develop templates and layers within ArcGIS Pro to be linked to Sextant COP for each USCG command center, including Areas of Responsibility (AORs) that can be turned on and off by each command center in the Looking Glass Web based map.
  • Build a catalog of searchable content and web applications that are understandable to technical and nontechnical stakeholders for use within a curated site page.
  • Review the initial artifacts guide and recommend updates and changes to the guide.
  • Develop, support, and document delivered ArcGIS capabilities delivered as a Sextant COP User Optimization Reference (SCUOR).
  • Provide a written Indirect Study Report to the Coast Guard Office of Shore Forces (CG-741) with recommendations for conducting business with ArcGIS in support of command centers.
