Position Summary:
Reports To: Director of Marketing and Branding in the Communications and Institutional Relations team (CIR)
The Digital Marketing Specialist will play a crucial role in developing and executing comprehensive digital marketing strategies to enhance our brand presence and drive engagement across multiple platforms. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of digital marketing trends, AI technologies, analytics, and best practices.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Strategy Development: Provide counsel to the Director to develop and implement digital marketing strategies that align with McGill’s brand positioning and CIR objectives.
  • Campaign Management: Plan, execute, and optimize integrated digital marketing campaigns across various channels, including social media, email (CRM), search engines, and display advertising – with audiences ranging from Quebec, to Canada, to key strategic student recruitment markets around the world.
  • AI Integration: Leverage AI tools and technologies to enhance marketing efforts in areas including predictive analytics, customer segmentation, personalized content recommendations, and automated campaign management.
  • Performance Metrics: Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for digital marketing efforts. Analyze data and generate reports to measure campaign effectiveness and inform future strategies for McGill’s global marketing efforts.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with marketing and communications teams across McGill to ensure cohesive and consistent brand messaging and to share best practices.
  • Market Analysis: Monitor and analyze digital marketing trends, competitor activities, and industry best practices. Provide insights and recommendations to enhance our digital marketing strategies.
  • Budget Management: Support the oversight of the digital marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to maximize return on investment (ROI).
  • Brand Management: Oversee the application of McGill’s visual identity and brand guidelines across all digital platforms, ensuring consistency and alignment with overall brand strategy.
  • Market Research: Conduct market research to identify new opportunities and trends.
  • Agency Management: Collaborate with external agencies as needed

Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Proven experience in digital marketing, with a strong portfolio of successful campaigns.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms, including Google Analytics, SEO/SEM, social media advertising, and email marketing.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to drive decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Creative thinker with a passion for staying ahead of digital marketing trends.
