Intercity Packers is the largest meat/seafood distribution company in Western Canada and part of the Gordon Food Service (GFS).
As a result of our expanding sales strategy, Intercity Packers is looking for a Full-Time Permanent Sales Representative. Reporting to the Director of Sales, the successful candidate will be accountable for driving new bulk commodity and protein sales growth on Vancouver Island.
Position: Full Time, Permanent
Location: Candidate can be located anywhere on Vancouver Island. Preference for those located in Victoria or Nanaimo.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, business hours.
Travel: Minimal. Will be required to travel to the Lower Mainland a few times a year.

Salary and Allowance:

  • 100% commission!
  • Candidate will start on salary structure for a maximum of six (6) months. They may choose to opt in to commission structure earlier.
  • Salary structure will be based on a range of $75,000-$100,000 per year.
  • Plus car allowance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a business plan and sales strategy for your assigned accounts to ensure attainment of company sales goals and objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for total growth through analysis and sales insights.
  • Initiate and coordinate development of action plans to penetrate new markets.
  • Collaboratively work with internal departments, in particular Product Development & Operations.
  • Respectfully and capably represents the best interests of Intercity Packers in all internal and external dealings.
  • Builds relationships with all clients in the market area to ensure high levels of client satisfaction and retention.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license, vehicle and ability to travel as required.
  • Direct-selling and account management experience required.
  • Sales experience in a protein food service company is required.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and diplomacy skills, with a high degree of tact and persuasiveness.
  • Effective communication in an open and direct manner; conveys information clearly and concisely, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in a related discipline preferred, or other job related equivalent business experience.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Proficiency with the Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Hangouts, Slides)
