Weldco-Beales Manufacturing designs and manufactures specialized heavy equipment attachments for the construction, forestry, mining, scrap recycling, road maintenance and resource industries throughout Canada, the USA and internationally. Weldco-Beales is currently recruiting an experienced Fitter/Fabricator for the Edmonton manufacturing team. This position will report to the General Foreman.

What you will do:

• Work with heavy plate steel
• Read and interpret and blueprints
• Plan the sequence of tasks and assemble parts according to drawings
• Fabricate steel weldments and use measuring instruments
• Assemble and fit metal sections and plates together to form complete units or sub-units
• Fasten components together (by tack weld) in preparation for a welder to complete the process
• Transport raw materials and finished metal products manually, using hoists or other devices
• Sort metal sheets and parts, scrap metal and other materials
• Grind and deburr sharp edges from metal parts using hand and power tools
• Operate forklifts and overhead cranes
• Maintain a clean, orderly and safe work environment
• Perform other duties as required

Your qualifications:

• Red Seal Certified or an equivalent certification in Fabrication or Welding
• 4+ years experience in Fabrication or Welding
• Demonstrate a commitment to continuous quality
• Excellent communication skills
• Problem solving skills to methodically and logically work through problems
• Be proficient in the use of all tools common to the fabrication shop environment
