About the Role

The Application Analyst, Level II, will be certified in Epic Optime and Anesthesia module and have the 4 years of implementation experience in Epic Optime and Anesthesia. Working experience in Epic Inpatient Orders and Order transmittal is preferred. The Analyst will work closely with other Application Level I, II and Senior application analysts in support of the IT Clinical Applications configuration and Implementation along with providing the needed operational support, training and end user site support. The Analyst will need to understand clinical workflows that support the application build through working alongside business caregiver counterparts. The role will require flexibility being a hospital with at times a need to do shift work and support caregivers 24*7.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, Facilitates, and Documents requirements and validation sessions independently or with minimal supervision.
• Works closely with clinical operations to obtain and document clinical workflows and processes.
• Provides the needed site support, training and informatics support as required.
• Adheres to the governance using data to help manage their own performance.
• Provides operational support by resolving incidents, completing operational and enhancement requests independently.
• Follow the IT change control process, attend and present their changes in appropriate change control boards.
• Support and develop Analyst level 1 to foster their development.
• Contribute to ongoing clinical application projects by independently working on project tasks assigned.
• Support the senior analyst in project scoping, effort estimation for tasks and provide subject matter expertise for workflow designs.
• Support the senior analyst in sprint planning and capacity planning for delivery of enhancement requests.
• Obtains a thorough understanding of all aspects of the IT clinical applications in order to analyze, design, build/configure and validate.
• Implement and provide ongoing maintenance for all IT clinical applications under their remit.
• Works closely with Application Analysts Level I, Level II and Senior Analysts to build and configure IT clinical applications as defined by business requirements.
• Work closely with other IT teams to ensure successful of dependent tasks.
• Provide subject matter expertise and provide inputs to system maintenance, and implementing workflow changes for operational efficiencies.
• Obtains a thorough understanding of all CCAD IT clinical applications and the associated business workflows.
• Provides strong data analysis, designs specifications and documentation.
• Coordinates IT clinical application reporting requests and assists with defining report requirements and validating results.
• Assists with all testing requirements post configuration and build.
• Assists with the development of test plans.
• Analyzes problems and suggests innovative solutions after validating with current application functionality.
• Highlights issues relating to system configuration and integration.
• Maintains issue tracking and follows issue tracking policies and guidelines.
• Works with business stakeholder, IT teams and vendor partners to help resolve IT incidents and identify root cause.
• Provides end-user support for technical and workflow issues, new functionality implementation, and system upgrades.
• Participates in training caregivers on the use of Clinical Applications, enhancing the skills of existing caregivers, and communicating application enhancements or new functionality.
• Develops and maintains training manuals, multi-media visual aids and other educational materials as needed.
• Contributes to and supports the Clinical Application Training Environments.
• Provides support to end-users during their “Go-Live” phase, including direct caregiver support during patient encounters.
• Lead troubleshooting of system issues from end-users.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information Technology/ clinical degree in nursing, pharmacy/ Medicine/Dentistry.

Required Skills

• Prior Epic Optime and Anesthesia module Implementation experience of 4 years is required.
• Prior work experience in client place for Go Live and post Go live support.
• Prior experience in device integration is required.
• Prior work experience in Epic user security and access provisioning is preferred.
• Experience typically supported by a license in a medically related field such as Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Pharmacy, Laboratory, or Medical Technology is preferred.
• Prior working experience in developing moderate to complex smartforms is preferred.
• Prior working experience in Order transmittal is preferred.
• Certification in Epic Optime and Anesthesia is required.
• Certification in Epic Inpatient Orders is preferred.
• Certification in Epic Smartforms is preferred.
• Good knowledge of healthcare industry required; familiarity with clinical and administrative hospital functions, workflows and departments preferred.
• Familiarity with various programming and clinical application reporting tools.
• Ability to Import and Export data in and from Epic.
• Skilled in Microsoft tools, best preferred Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint.
• Ability to work with servers and apply software upgrades.
• Ability to perform independently and manage workload appropriately.
• Team player who creates a positive team environment.
• Customer Service orientation is required.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clinical and information technology personnel verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrated ability to establish and build strong working relationships.
• Proficient with MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Visio and MS PowerPoint.
• Ability to speak and write in English is required.
• Ability to speak and write in both English and Arabic is preferred.
• Willing to do on-call support 24/7 on defined schedules.
