We are recruiting an OBC & Communications AIT Engineer on behalf of a fast-growing international space technology company developing next-generation Earth observation satellite systems. The company operates in the space and defence sector, delivering advanced satellite-based intelligence and monitoring capabilities to institutional and commercial customers worldwide. Its technologies support applications related to security, surveillance, environmental monitoring, maritime awareness, disaster response, and critical infrastructure protection.

With an international footprint and rapidly expanding manufacturing operations, the company is scaling the production of advanced satellite platforms and is looking for experienced engineers to strengthen its Assembly, Integration & Testing (AIT) organization.

About the Role

As an OBC & Communications AIT Engineer, you will own the assembly, integration, verification, and testing of the satellite’s On-Board Computer (OBC) and communications subsystems. This is a highly hands-on engineering role where you will serve as the primary technical point of contact for OBC and communications-related issues throughout manufacturing and integration. Working closely with engineering, production, and quality teams, you will ensure mission-critical embedded hardware and communication systems are successfully integrated, validated, and prepared for production.

You will play a key role in identifying integration risks, resolving complex technical issues, supporting design improvements, and helping scale the manufacturing of advanced satellite platforms. We welcome applications from engineers with backgrounds in space, defence, avionics, telecommunications, automotive, or other high-reliability embedded hardware environments.

  • Key ResponsibilitiesOwn the assembly, integration, verification, and testing of onboard computer (OBC) and communications subsystems.
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for OBC and communications-related issues during manufacturing and integration.
  • Perform hands-on inspection, verification, troubleshooting, and functional testing of embedded hardware.
  • Investigate non-conformances using structured root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Contribute to design reviews, Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Test (DFT), and production readiness activities.
  • Work closely with design engineering, manufacturing, production, and quality teams to ensure successful subsystem integration.
  • Apply system-level thinking to identify integration risks across multiple hardware interfaces.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, integration procedures, test documentation, NCRs, and corrective action records.
  • Support production ramp-up and drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve manufacturing reliability and repeatability.

Requirements

  • RequiredDegree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in the development, integration, testing, or manufacturing of complex electronic or communication systems.
  • Strong understanding of embedded hardware, onboard computing, and Software Defined Radio (SDR)-based communication systems.
  • Experience integrating complex hardware within multidisciplinary engineering environments.
  • Experience with system-level hardware integration and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) principles.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, integration, verification, or production ramp-up activities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience conducting structured root cause analysis.
  • Ability to produce clear, structured technical documentation and integration procedures.
