The ideal candidate will bring a strong Java background, including Java 11/17 and Java EE / Jakarta EE, together with proven experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale applications. Strong database design and development expertise, particularly with PostgreSQL, is essential, as is hands-on experience with Eclipse RCP, SWT and JFace, and WildFly Application Server. You should have a solid understanding of software architecture, object-oriented design principles and design patterns, with experience leading the modernisation of legacy systems and supporting long-term technology roadmaps. Experience with JPA/Hibernate, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Maven and Azure DevOps would be advantageous. To succeed in this role, you will be a collaborative communicator, comfortable working with geographically distributed teams and engaging effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
