Overview:
The USU Controller’s Office seeks to hire an Accountant as part of the College Accounting team. The successful applicant will contribute to and support all aspects of college accounting and financial reporting functions.

Responsibilities:

• Review completed financial statements for accuracy
• Calculate required financial information for statements and notes to ensure compliance with GASB requirements
• Maintain records and files
• Calculate and remit sales tax revenue
• Compiles statistical, financial, accounting, and/or auditing reports and tables
• Provide expert support for colleges and departments
• Prepare complex journal entries
• Reconcile difficult accounts and reports, resolving discrepancies and problems
• Assist and support account reconciliation for university auxiliaries
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field plus two years of experience or equivalent education plus experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Three to Five years’ experience in higher education accounting and financial reporting
• Comprehensive knowledge and experience with Banner Finance
• Demonstrated experience and expertise in compiling financial statements
• Experience reading and analyzing contracts and understanding related terms and conditions
