Within the context of a client and family centered care model and in accordance with established vision and values of the organization, uses considerable tact and diplomacy to provide communication, information and reception services, administrative support functions and other duties relating to various program activities within adult community mental health. Answers telephone inquiries, takes messages or directs callers to the appropriate person, greets and checks in clients, schedules client appointments as directed, confirms client appointments. Exhibits current working knowledge of applicable computer systems and software programs. Word processes a variety of material such as correspondence and progress reports utilizing word processing or spreadsheet software, enters client information into database, scores client questionnaires according to established procedures, transcribes administrative and clinical correspondence, and collates statistical information. Maintains client charts as per established procedures, sorts and distributes incoming and outgoing mail, and engages in on-going team planning and quality improvement activities. About the North Shore Adult Community Mental Health Team The Adult Community Mental Health team (located at the HOpe Centre) provides specialized, community-based services for adults living with serious or persistent mental illness, as well as individuals who may be in the early stages of developing a mental health disorder. Clients are supported through inclusionary, flexible care, with services tailored to individual needs and delivered through a combination of in-office appointments, home visits, and community outreach. This is a multidisciplinary team, with psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, and other allied health professionals working collaboratively. About the HOpe Centre The HOpe Centre on the Lions Gate Hospital campus is the focal point for mental health services on the North Shore. Opened in 2014, the HOpe Centre hosts two mental health inpatient units alongside a range of community-based outpatient mental health services. The HOpe Centre has an on-site Blenz café, with additional shops and restaurants within walking distance, creating a welcoming and accessible environment for clients, families, and staff. Qualifications Education & Experience Grade 12, completion of an office administration certificate plus two (2) years’ recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Knowledge & Abilities Knowledge of general office procedures. Knowledge of medical terminology. Ability to multitask in a fast paced work environment. Ability to deal with clients living with mental illness and/or addiction. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ability to compose business correspondence.
