Job Description The Aviation Construction Representative provides consistent on-site field coverage for airfield construction projects and serves as the project team’s primary source of real-time field awareness of which will be located in Dallas, TX. This role supports safe airfield operations, verifies that construction activities are proceeding in general conformance with approved plans and specifications, and provides timely field status updates to support informed decision-making by Project Managers (PMs) and Construction Managers (CMs). This is an operationally critical, field-based role requiring strong situational awareness, discipline, and clear communication in active airfield environments. Key Responsibilities Field Coverage & Real-Time Awareness Maintain an on-site presence aligned with contractor work windows, closures, and active operations. Observe ongoing construction activities and confirm real-time work status (e.g., set-up complete, work in progress, ready for inspection). Serve as the primary source of immediate field feedback for PMs and CMs. Communicate changing field conditions promptly and accurately. Field Verification & Early Issue Identification Verify that installed materials and construction activities appear consistent with approved plans and specifications (e.g., pipe type, bedding, installation methods). Identify discrepancies early and raise concerns before work progresses. Support real-time issue resolution by notifying the contractor, QA, CM, and PM as appropriate. Clearly distinguish between observations, concerns, and issues requiring escalation. Safety & Airfield Operational Compliance Verify daily airfield safety and operational items, including barricades, temporary lighting, temporary markings, and FOD control. Support Part 139 operational readiness expectations, including ROFA, TOFA, RSA, and TSA requirements. Confirm closure readiness prior to the start of work. Identify and immediately escalate unsafe or non-compliant conditions. Stop work only when immediate safety or operational risk is present. Closures, Access, and Escorting Support closure setup and breakdown in coordination with Operations and the contractor. Confirm closure limits, access points, and required protection measures. Escort contractors into restricted or controlled areas as required. Coordinate access logistics to ensure work proceeds efficiently and safely. Inspection Coordination Support inspection activities by being present during construction work. Assist in aligning inspections with active construction operations. Flag items requiring QA attention in real time. Support early identification and resolution of field issues to avoid late discovery during formal inspections. Quantity Tracking & Daily Documentation Support daily quantity tracking and verification activities. Document quantities installed or progressed during each shift. Provide field input to support pay quantities and reconciliation. Escalate quantity discrepancies early to avoid late-stage reconciliation risk. Daily Reporting & Communication Complete or contribute to daily field reports documenting: Work performed Safety and operational items Access issues Inspections and quantities Communicate end-of-day status and unresolved issues. Ensure leadership has clear visibility into completed work, open items, and risks for upcoming shifts. Decision Authority Coordinate daily field activities within approved plans and closure parameters. Promptly flag and escalate issues impacting safety, operations, or compliance. Exercise authority to stop work when immediate safety or operational risks are identified. Success Indicators Field issues are identified early rather than after installation. Airfield readiness and safety items are consistently verified. Quantities are tracked daily, not reconciled late. PMs and CMs can rely on consistent, accurate field input. Expectations remain consistent regardless of assignment. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: BA/BS + 4 years of relevant construction field experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and education. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience supporting airfield or aviation-related construction projects. Prior experience supporting construction activities in active field environments. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications. Ability to work varied shifts aligned with construction work windows, closures, and operational needs. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with field personnel, contractors, and project leadership. Ability to work safely in active construction and airfield environments. Familiarity with FAA airfield environments, Part 139 considerations, or airport operational constraints. Experience supporting inspections, quantity tracking, and daily field reporting. Prior experience coordinating closures, access control, or escorting in restricted environments. Strong situational awareness and ability to identify issues early in fast-paced field conditions.
