The Helsinki Collegium for Advanced Studies (HCAS), the Neuroscience Center at Helsinki Institute of Life Science (HiLIFE), and the Department of Computer Science of the University of Helsinki invite applications for
3 Research Fellowship positions.
The fellows will be hired for a fixed term of three years, starting in August 2025.
The fellowships are opened as part of the collaborative framework Interdisciplinary Approaches to Intelligence (INTELLIGENCE3) funded by the University of Helsinki. The aim of the framework is to work on a more comprehensive conception of the nature of intelligence by integrating research results and methods from the humanities and social sciences, neuroscience, and computer science.
We are looking for researchers working on cognition in three different fields 1) the humanities and social sciences, 2) cognitive and systems neuroscience, and 3) computer science.
The researchers will work at the interface between the disciplines, collaborate with each other, and share their research with the recruiting units. As the coordinating unit of INTELLIGENCE3, HCAS will offer the platform for collaboration between the recruited researchers, supported by the multidisciplinary HCAS research community. The researcher in the humanities and social sciences will be affiliated with HCAS. The researchers in neuroscience and computer science will share their time between HCAS and the Neuroscience Center or the Department of Computer Science, respectively.
