As the Engineer for Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning at A-Safe you will operate horizontally with multiple teams where you will lead AI & ML model training, validation, experimenting, and ongoing monitoring, ensuring consistent and reliable performance in production.
This is a full stack role, You will collaborate with Data teams to ensure system compatibility and efficient, reliable handling of AI & ML workloads. And with Software Development Teams for proof of concept (POC) experiments and deployments.
In this pivotal role, you will design and deliver robust, reliable, and scalable AI and Machine Learning solutions, while also championing experimental and innovative development. Your expertise will demonstrate the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at A-SAFE, significantly enhancing operational efficiency, optimising performance, and empowering better, data-driven decisions across the organisation. By pioneering solutions that integrate advanced analytics into our products and services, your contributions will directly support our mission to prevent workplace injuries, enhance safety standards, and ultimately safeguard lives. Your work will not only position A-SAFE at the forefront of AI-driven innovation but will also have a profound, tangible impact on protecting people worldwide.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS.

• Proven experience with Generative AI including LLMs, RAG, chain-of-thought reasoning, transformers, diffusion models, and recommender systems.
• Skilled in developing and managing comprehensive training data pipelines, including data gathering, cleaning, augmentation, labelling, and managing vector databases for large-scale RAG workflows.
• Skilled with model deployment, monitoring, versioning, and continuous improvement frameworks (MLflow, AWS SageMaker Model Monitor), ensuring models meet scalability, latency, and operational performance requirements.
• Experience with deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch), strong practical experience in AWS SageMaker, Bedrock and Lambda. Familiarity with Azure AI Foundry advantageous but not essential
• Experience with software engineering best practices (version control, CI/CD, code reviews). Some exposure to Java/Scala for Databricks an advantage but not essential.
• Experience deploying or Integrating models with front-end or back-end system, APIs, microservices, or other relevant services for workloads. Experience with AWS services, serverless architectures for scalability, Python and TypeScript/Node.js Languages.
