Sommaire du poste:
Sous la responsabilité du directeur adjoint à l’administration, le chef de secteur est chargé de planifier, d’élaborer et de mettre en œuvre des processus opérationnels à l’appui du Centre de services administratifs (CSA) Arts-Ferrier, qui comprend les départements/unités d’histoire de l’art et d’études en communication, d’anglais, du DLTC (Département des littératures de langue française, de traduction et de création) et du Centre de langue française, au sein de la Faculté des arts. Il gère les opérations administratives financières de l’ASC. Il met en œuvre des normes relatives aux niveaux de service des unités et apporte un soutien managérial concernant les buts et objectifs de l’ASC. Il met en œuvre de nouvelles initiatives qui soutiennent l’orientation stratégique de l’ASC. Il supervise directement les employés.

Responsabilités principales :

  • Analyser les opérations financières du secteur.
  • Gérer les activités comptables et salariales. Exercer un contrôle budgétaire.
  • Autoriser et approuver les dépenses et veiller au respect des politiques budgétaires et des procédures financières de l’université et du département.
  • Gérer les rapports appropriés et la documentation financière de fin d’année.
  • Élaborer et mettre en œuvre des procédures, des contrôles et des systèmes d’archivage pour l’unité.
  • Analyser et développer des méthodes de planification budgétaire et recommander des allocations budgétaires pour les départements, notamment en collaborant avec les présidents pour élaborer des plans pour les réunions budgétaires avec le doyen.
  • Gérer les budgets de fonctionnement et de recherche des départements.
  • Superviser directement une équipe de personnel administratif, gérer le flux de travail, fixer des buts et des objectifs, vérifier et attribuer les tâches.
  • Fournir un soutien interfonctionnel aux autres responsables du recrutement de l’unité et assurer le remplacement en ce qui concerne les recrutements universitaires (classés et non classés), les assistants d’enseignement (AGSEM) et les chargés de cours (MCLIU).

Autres compétences et/ou aptitudes requises:
Solides compétences financières et analytiques, avec une expérience dans la budgétisation, la paie et la comptabilité. Capacité avérée à appliquer les politiques financières, gérer les rapports et les processus de fin d’exercice, et à soutenir la planification budgétaire stratégique. Leadership démontré dans la supervision du personnel administratif et la supervision du flux de travail. Capacité à fournir un soutien interfonctionnel pour divers processus de dotation en personnel, y compris les embauches universitaires et syndiquées. Excellentes compétences en matière d’organisation, de communication et de résolution de problèmes. Expérience de travail dans un milieu universitaire, un atout. Bilingue anglais et français.
Doit être en mesure de travailler sur place au campus du centre-ville de McGill pendant 2,5 à 3 jours par semaine. Peut être amené à travailler à domicile jusqu’à 2,5 jours par semaine, sous réserve des besoins opérationnels et de l’approbation du supérieur hiérarchique.
Connaissance de l’anglais : L’Université McGill est une université anglophone où les tâches quotidiennes peuvent nécessiter de communiquer en anglais, tant à l’oral qu’à l’écrit. Le niveau d’anglais requis pour ce poste a été évalué à 4 (usage courant) sur une échelle de 0 à 4.
