Type One Energy group are looking for a Senior Magnet Engineer to work on the design, analysis, specification and procurement of complete magnet systems for two projects. The first project is Infinity One - a medium scale stellarator that will demonstrate the performance of a highly optimized stellarator magnetic field configuration as well as the viability of high temperature superconducting stellarator magnets to produce that field configuration.
Following successful design, fabrication, and operation of Project Infinity, Type One Energy will begin construction of a second project, Infinity 2. This plant will demonstrate net production of electrical power with a closed fuel cycle.

The primary function of this position is to provide technical leadership and engineering design for the conceptual, preliminary, and final design and procurement of all the HTS magnets and related structures.

• Develop HTS magnet system designs.
• Be responsible for technical quality and performance, costs, schedule and risk and opportunity for magnet system engineering
• Direct trade-offs as needed to make optimum design choices with respect to technical, cost and schedule constraints
• Provide product/subsystems design oversight for magnet system components
• Provide Configuration oversight for magnet system design and procurement products
• Support the transition of the system to the Manufacturing Operations group.
• Provide engineering support for procurement.
• Coordinate between Engineering Functional Management and staff
• Work with functional engineering management to ensure that standardized tools and development environment is utilized and applied
