QUALIFICATIONS (WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY)

• Experience: At least 5 years of experience in the construction industry as a site manager or project manager
• Education: Degree or diploma in construction management, civil engineering, architecture, or a related field (preferred)
• Certifications: (PMP) Project Management Professional certification an asset
• Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of construction processes, methods, and best practices is essential.
• Familiarity with construction codes, regulations, and permit packages is also crucial to ensure compliance with legal requirements
• Familiar with Construction Management software, GANTT charts, request for bid process
• Proven experience in modern web tech and industry design and collaboration tools
• Proven self-management skills through online calendars, email/Slack communication, and file management
• Experience with Google Office is an asset (sheets, documents, forms)
• Driver’s license and a reliable truck
• Ability to drive to job sites around Victoria, Langford, and occasionally Sooke, Cowichan Bay
• Personal computer or laptop with high-speed internet access, sound, microphone, and video capabilities
• Cell phone with mobile data

At Cugino Homes the Project Manager is an integral part of the team. The Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and closing projects successfully. They provide leadership and coordination of comprehensive project plans.

Primary responsibilities

• Prepares comprehensive project plans in our construction software
• Reads drawings and blueprints and ensures all relevant and accurate details
• At the job site, coordinates team members, stakeholders, and other resources
• Conducts risk assessments and implement strategies to mitigate potential issues
• Facilitates communication and provides regular updates to team members and clients
• Manages project budgets by keeping each project within budget constraints
• Ensures quality standards are met
• Manages a team of subcontractors, retailers, and labourers to reach quality, cost, and timeline targets
• Builds project management files and updating them in real-time
• Can build detailed, dynamic GANTT charts from scratch and uses them effectively as a communication tool
• Familiar with centralized project information systems, including job log updates, budget tracking, and integrating with administrative staff where required
• Capable of managing multiple project sites simultaneously and optimize project delivery for each
• Forward-thinker able to identify emerging risks/opportunities in a complex, dynamic setting
• Support sales staff with client requests and project hand-off
