The goal of a Managed Services Network Engineer is to design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot computer networks within a client organization, ensuring the stability and optimal performance of data, voice, and video communication systems by managing network hardware, software, and infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points. The Network Engineer also identifies and resolves network issues, performs upgrades, and collaborates with other IT teams to meet business needs. Network implementation: Install, configure, and deploy network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers. Network monitoring and troubleshooting: Monitor network performance, identify and diagnose issues, and resolve network problems related to connectivity, bandwidth, and security. Vendor management: work with network equipment vendors to resolve technical issues and negotiate contracts. Documentation and reporting: Maintain detailed network documentation and generate reports on network performance and health. Requirements What We're Looking For Key Technical Skills: Networking protocols: In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), and network security protocols Network devices configuration: Expertise in configuring network devices like Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points Troubleshooting skills: Ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues System administration skills: Understanding of operating systems, system management tools, and scripting languages Security awareness: Knowledge of network security best practices and threat mitigation strategies Analytical skills: Ability to analyze network performance data and identify potential issues Education and Certifications: 3 years of relevant experience Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
