As an Assistant Shift Engineer - Second Class you will: Work under the direction of the Manager, Plant Operations to operate, repair and maintain a high pressure (600psig+), high temperature (750 F Superheat), primary combined cycle, parallel co-generation thermal Power Plant with currently installed capacity of 2890 boiler horsepower, as required by the Boiler and Pressure Vessel Safety Act and Regulations to produce steam and primary power; including the operations of boilers, feed water pumps, turbines, power distribution centres and related auxiliary equipment which changes as Plant operating and site strategies evolve, and currently includes: 600 psig Boilers 150 psig Boilers 1MW 4160 volt turbo-generators 1000 psig feed water pumps (225 KW and 500 KW) diesel generators 440V, 4160V and 12800V transformers and switchgear 1600KW stand-by generators Provides work direction to Assistant Shift Engineers by coordinating work activities, providing guidance/technical advice, training and orientation.
