(REPLACEMENT TEMPORARY FULL-TIME – APPROXIMATELY 12 MONTHS)
The District of West Vancouver is one of three municipalities that make up the North Shore, and is a member of Metro Vancouver, the governing body of the Greater Vancouver Regional District. The District of West Vancouver is committed to governing under fiscal best practices, to the highest ethical standards, with a commitment to transparency, and with the goal of including as many citizens as possible in Council meetings, community consultations and the democratic process.
Reporting to the Manager of Roads & Transportation, the Roads & Transportation Planning, Design & Projects Engineer oversees and facilitates the planning, design, construction, and project management of municipal transportation infrastructure projects and services. They will be responsible for the provision of various functions related to Transportation Management (roads, traffic, active transportation) through direct involvement and the supervision of a team of technologists.
This position will also be responsible for:
The successful candidate will have excellent management and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop effective working relationships required to optimize resources and support District priorities. The candidate will be a licensed Civil Engineer and possess several years’ experience related to municipal engineering within the provision of transportation functions.
The candidate will be a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of BC, a certified Professional Traffic Operations Engineer and have a valid driver’s license for the Province of British Columbia. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
The successful candidate will be required to supply a police information check and a copy of their credentials.
Position Status:
Exempt – Replacement Temporary Full-Time
Hours of Work:
35 hours per week (hours and days of work may vary)
Salary:
$123,100 - $138,500 per annum
