POSITION SUMMARY   This position is accountable for performing safety and health activities at assigned construction sites to evaluate and control exposure to physical or environmental hazards. This position is mentored by an assigned Sr. HSE Supervisor or Area HSE Manger to aid the PHSR grow in their HSE Skillsets. The PHSR will also act as a project liaison between the Orion Field Supervisors and the Client Safety Supervisors when a HSE Supervisor is not on site.   This position requires 90% travel within Texas with occasional trips to CXT and Dallas TAS offices/job sites. The incumbent must have the ability and flexibility to work varying shifts, long hours (8-12 hours) and weekend hours (Saturdays and/or Sundays) according to project needs. The incumbent must also work in different weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.) and office settings (project trailer, job site, office, etc.)   The incumbent must support the guiding beliefs and core values of Orion, which are centered on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Teamwork most importantly, with each built upon the all-important foundation of Integrity.   SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES   * Performs and conducts HSE Observations and Site Inspections on assigned project sites. * Ensures all employees are working safely and following safety guidelines/standards per company and state and/or federal laws. * Investigates accidents and prepares accident reports under the direction of their assigned mentor. * Observes operations conditions for hazards and works with project team to reduce or eliminate hazards on the assigned project sites. * Transports, or accompanies injured employees to medical treatment facilities. Coordinates follow-up visits and work restrictions with medical providers for injured employees. * Measures noise levels and air quality using a variety of equipment or instruments. * Performs assigned safety training to project crews as directed by mentor. * Coordinates distribution of personal protective equipment such as vests, gloves, hard hats, harnesses, etc. * Coordinates project safety needs with mentor to get project safety needs filled (Fit tests, respirator evaluations, PPE, safety supplies, etc. * Enforces use of safety equipment, including personal protective equipment. * Trains employees (on-the-job or in classroom settings) on safety and health requirements to ensure compliance with regulations, including new hire orientation. * Oversees field activities and monitors for health and safety violations. * Works with project team to get and maintain monitors hot work permits, confined space entries, and lockout/tag out permits from the General Contractor at their assigned project. * Monitors emergency action plans and advises the mentor if changes are needed. * Ensures and remains accountable for the safety of himself/herself, as well as any others the incumbent encounters. This includes executing their stop work authority on any task or series of tasks whenever an unsafe condition or situation is anticipated or is observed. * All employees, current and former, must maintain confidentiality by not disclosing to others any confidential, proprietary or trade secret information belonging to the Company.
