We are seeking qualified individuals for the role of Power Systems Engineer. This will be a Monday-Friday schedule. Please note that this position is based in Labrador West.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• The candidate must possess, at a minimum, a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering.
• The candidate must be a Member of a Provincial Professional Engineering Organization (Professional Engineer).
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Support operations through continuous improvement of electrical equipment and systems.
• Plan, design and analyzing new and existing power systems to increase reliability & sustainability.
• Troubleshooting power system failures and performing root cause analysis.
• Performing a wide range of engineering tasks by operating computer-assisted design or engineering software and equipment.
• Coordinate with procurement on the purchase of new equipment and work with various contractor groups on the installation and modifications of electrical equipment.
• Ensure that new and existing infrastructure conform to provincial & federal standards.
• Organize and lead projects as assigned, from concept to execution.
• Creation of work packages for tendering.
• Work with the local utility provider on usage forecasting and other required reporting.
• Perform Arc Flash Studies for site-based electrical equipment.
• Assist in the implementation of long-term maintenance and replacement planning of existing power distribution infrastructure.
• Other duties as assigned.
