The Role The Engineering Analysis Group provides specialist support to UKAEA engineering activities, solving complex technical problems using advanced analytical methods while ensuring alignment with industry quality standards. You will lead the Engineering Analysis Team within the Product Engineering Analysis Group, delivering expert technical guidance across UKAEA. You will manage team performance and development, ensure the implementation of technical procedures, support strategic planning, and coordinate workloads to meet project demands effectively. This role requires a high level of technical expertise to ensure engineered products operate safely and reliably. Project Management Manage analysis and simulation activities across projects and work packages. Oversee technical delivery, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and requirements. Qualifications Essential A relevant engineering Master’s degree or equivalent level gained through experience. Attained chartered status with a relevant professional institution or with qualifications and experience sufficient to attain it within a year of appointment. Expertise in the application of simulation and analysis within at least one area of physics, with broader competence across others, alongside experience working to design-by-analysis standards (e.g. ASME VIII or PD5500) and ensuring regulatory compliance. Experience defining and planning technical work packages and supervising staff in their execution. Good communication and technical writing skills with facility for persuading and convincing others in technical discussions Desirable Experience with fusion-relevant environmental factors such as radiation, vacuum and transient magnetic fields.
