OVERVIEW

T Engineering is seeking an Automation Engineer to join our team. In this role, you’ll design and implement PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems, integrate sensors and instrumentation, and support automation solutions for mining and material handling projects. You’ll work with clients, vendors, and contractors, mentor junior staff, and manage projects independently while ensuring safety and compliance.
We’re looking for candidates with a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering (or equivalent experience), at least 5 years in automation and controls, and strong skills in AutoCAD and MS Office. A P.Eng designation and mining experience are assets.

Responsibilities:

• Strong knowledge of automation, contributing to multi-disciplinary projects
• Coordinate effectively with clients, vendors, and contractors to define and communicate project specifications and requirements
• Select and integrate sensors, instrumentation, and control systems for mining equipment and material handling systems
• Design, develop, and implement automation solutions, including PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems
• Interpret, revise, and create P&IDs and other technical documentation
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff
• Work independently, managing tasks and priorities with minimal supervision
• Ensure compliance with mining safety regulations and industry standards, and company policies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience
• Proven track record in automation and controls engineering with 5+ years of work experience
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation is an asset.
• Proficiency with MS Office and AutoCAD, or a similar software
• Familiarity with underground mining operations and associated surface facilities in an asset
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting ability
• Able to lift 20 kg, and fit to walk on uneven terrain

Pay: $90,000.00-$115,000.00 per year
