RESPONSIBILITIES Improve and maintain the Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental standards to ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Environmental Protection Act, and other government requirements, as well as the global corporate safety requirements. Co-chair the Joint Health & Safety Committee, encouraging worker involvement Review all accident and incident investigation reports and make suggestions to prevent reoccurrence and assist in the development of corrective actions. Produce monthly analysis of safety documentation and statistics. Perform environmental monitoring and interpret data, prepare written reports, documenting testing methodology, observations, results, and recommendations. Conduct internal health/safety and environmental inspections and audits and follow up with the required corrective actions. Coordinate with Management/Engineering to assist with Pre-Start and EHS Reviews, Process Management System and Job Hazard Analysis. Act as primary liaison with all governmental agencies concerning environmental, health and safety issues. Monitor new and revised legislative requirements and ensure compliance. Participate in and support regular meetings to discuss workplace safety and regulatory concerns and opportunities. Conduct orientation with new employees on all health, safety, and environmental compliance.
