About the opportunity
We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and dedicated Cook to join our team at our 96-bed aged care facility. You will play a vital role in preparing nutritious, high-quality meals that cater to the dietary needs of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook meals in accordance with aged care dietary requirements, menu plans, and resident preferences.
• Maintain a clean, hygienic, and organized kitchen environment in line with food safety standards.
• Ensure special diets (texture-modified, diabetic, allergen-free) are accurately prepared and served.
• Collaborate with dietitians and facility staff to ensure meal quality and compliance with care plans.
• Supervise and mentor kitchen assistants or food service staff when required.
• Participate in stock ordering, rotation, and waste management.

To thrive in this role, you will have:

• Qualification as a Cook (Minimum requirement, Certificate 3 Commercial Cookery)
• Significant experience in commercial cooking.
• A compassionate, flexible and positive approach to effective patient care and management.
• The ability to nurture friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment.

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

• A current NDIS Clearance
• Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
