Overview Performs maintenance and repairs work in all general areas, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and the ability to prioritize. Responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance on a daily, weekly, monthly, semi-annual, and annual basis, depending on equipment. Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Responsible for maintaining, repairing, modifying, renovating, and construction of plumbing distribution and fixtures steam distribution and heating. Performs all required inspections, and testing and preventative maintenance on all the plumbing systems. Strong knowledge of NFPA 25, 70, 72, 99, and 110. Good working knowledge of State and local codes and their application in healthcare. Qualifications EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT Associates degree from a 2-year college or technical school; or two (2) years (60 credit hours) coursework from a 4-year college or university; or three (3) years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT An additional three (3) years of journeyman-level plumbing experience required. COMPUTER SKILLS An individual should know Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets the requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating. Must possess and maintain a valid state-issued Journeyman Plumber’s license. Must obtain CPR within six (6) months of hire. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Critical thinking skills. Decisive judgment. Must be able to work in a stressful environment. Review and interpret highly technical information, write technical materials, and/or speak persuasively to implement desired actions; and solve practical problems. Specific knowledge-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the function of the include interpret resulting data; standards for design and construction; building codes and DNV requirements and all applicable NFPA codes 55, 99, 110, and regulations; hazards and safety precautions. Skill and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Skill and ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines. Ability to work as a member of a team. Good working knowledge of wet/dry sprinkler systems.
