This role is offered at Band 2, and you need to be available to complete 12 weeks Induction / Training at full time hours. Applicants must be able to work a variety of shift patterns, as fixed shifts (for example, nights only) are not currently available.Once you have successfully completed the National Care Certificate Training, you will be made a Band 3 Healthcare Support Worker.Please note that if you already hold an NHS-recognised Care Certificate and wish to be appointed directly to a Band 3 Healthcare Support Worker role, you should apply via our Band 3 Healthcare Support Worker advert. This advert is for the Band 2 entry-level pathway only.

Student visa holders: We can only offer a full-time permanent contract if you have successfully completed your course and have either applied for, or obtained, a Graduate Visa before your anticipated start date.

As a Healthcare Support Worker you will assist the Registered Nurses in the delivery of care to our patients , you will work as part of a team ensuring our patients are cared for in a Kind, Protected and Excellent way, ensuring they are treated with dignity at all times.

About the Role:


n


The role is varied, equally challenging and rewarding. You will have the opportunity to really make a difference to the experience of patients. Full time and part time posts will be considered, and shifts include long days, nights, weekends, and public holidays. Our HCSWs will need the flexibility to cover varied shift patterns.

As part of this role you will be required to:


n


n

- Support to serve meals to patients

n

- Provide personal care to patients

n

- Take observations such as blood pressure measurements, pulse, urinalysis and temperature.

n

- Support patients with moving in their clinical area

n

- All other clinical duties as required

n


n

CUH provides a comprehensivefour-week Clinical Support Staff Induction Programme, together with support to achieve theNational Care Certificate. This programme is designed to help you settle into the organisation and become a valued member of the clinical team. Please note thatattendance on all four weeks of the induction programme is mandatory.

We are currently recruiting across a range of adult wards. Successful candidates will be allocated to a ward based on service needs and available vacancies across the Trust.
