QUALIFICATIONS

• BBA or equivalent in Accounting
• 4+ years prior experience as a Staff or Senior Accountant. Thorough knowledge, understanding & experience processing full cycle accounting transactions, general ledger functions and the month- end/year-end close process. CPA track and/or Public Accounting Experience preferred.
• Intermediate to advanced experience with , MS Excel (Vlookups & Pivots), Google mail, google docs, and Similar Programs.
• In depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Experience with Sage Intacct - GL system
• AvidXChange, Nexonia, Google Sheets/Docs
• Highly organized with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
• Self-starter who is able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Able to manage multiple tasks
• Excellent communication skills
• Primarily works in an office environment
• Must be able to sit for long periods of time with some standing and walking required
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 10 lbs. as office supplies and packages arrive and must be distributed to others

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Senior Accountant prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information. Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions; resolving discrepancies. Maintains general ledger and performs month-end close procedures.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Maintain, develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting systems, procedures and improve efficiency
• Ensure compliance with GAAP; ability to establish and adhere to proper accounting methods, company policies and cost containment
• Prepare Monthly and Year-end closing processes including preparation of: closing entries, reconciliations, fixed asset schedules, financial reports, amortization schedules, prepaid work sheets, AR Aging, ad hoc reports
• Prepare annual audit by providing requested schedules, reconciliations and answers to external auditor questions
• Ensure adherence to established departmental metrics for: billing, receivables, collections, payables, cash receipts, cash disbursements, general ledger and financial reporting
• Maintain schedules and records related to Fixed Assets and monthly reconciliation of Depreciation/Amortization expenses
• Inventory analysis and recording for medical devices
• Perform other clerical and accounting duties associated with the Accounting department, ie 1099 filings
• Participates in departmental and organizational meetings, training and other duties
• Perform monthly credit card balancing and recording tasks
• Ability to produce error free work by reviewing their work
