Rock Creek Cattle Company is seeking a Baker who brings passion, precision, and pride to every loaf, pastry, and dessert. This role is perfect for someone who loves working with their hands, values quality and consistency, and wants to be part of a supportive, high-energy culinary team in one of Montana’s most beautiful settings. Seasonal Opportunity: Approximately April 27, 2026 - October 17, 2026 Shifts: part-time (no housing available) / full-time (potential housing opportunity*) *Limited availability housing. Candidates may inquire with the hiring manager. Housing is not guaranteed. Rent is $395/month with a refundable deposit of $150 if approved. At this time, we are not allowing new pets. Job Summary: Accurately and efficiently prepare, bake, finish, and present a variety of breads, pastries, desserts, and baked goods according to Company standards. Perform additional kitchen duties as necessary, including preparation (“prep”) work, proper sanitization, and opening or closing responsibilities. Bakers are responsible for effectively completing the responsibilities below while maintaining constant communication with Management regarding progress and setbacks. These duties are subject to revision based on operational demands. For the purpose of this job description, any reference to “kitchen” includes, but is not limited to, production kitchens, pastry areas, storage spaces, dishwashing areas, and equipment. Duties/Responsibilities: Prepare and properly store ingredients for Bakeshop menu items, including washing, chopping, dicing, mincing, pureeing, peeling, cutting, mixing, seasoning, portioning, shaping, proofing, baking, glazing, decorating, and finishing. Safely and correctly store all food, prep items, and supplies in their designated locations in accordance with Company food safety standards. Accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, bake, and present Bakeshop menu items—often managing multiple items or production timelines simultaneously. Read and follow production sheets, prep lists, and order details carefully, ensuring all additions, deletions, substitutions, and special instructions are incorporated into the preparation process. Accurately follow recipes, formulas, portioning, and production standards as outlined by Company protocols to ensure consistency in quality and presentation. Safely operate and handle all bakery and kitchen equipment, including ovens, mixers, proofers, sheeters, and small wares, in accordance with Company standards. Review orders and production needs for modifications, including the removal of allergens when applicable. Communicate allergen-related modifications and other special instructions to all necessary culinary and service team members. Follow and practice Company standards for preparing food for Members with allergies, including sanitizing and/or replacing utensils, equipment, and work surfaces prior to production. Contribute to an exceptional Member experience by consistently aiming to exceed expectations in product quality, presentation, and timeliness. Maintain food quality, freshness, and safe food handling standards at all times. Support efficient and effective set up, organization, and breakdown of the Bakeshop, and assist with other kitchen stations—including salad, sauté, grill, and fryer—as needed based on operational demands. Complete side work and opening or closing duties efficiently, checking out with Management before clocking out. Proactively alert employees and Members to potential hazards, such as hot surfaces, sharp tools, molten food cores, or changes in flooring (including inclines, declines, or stairs). Maintain Company cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout all assigned work areas. Stay updated on specials, features, seasonal offerings, menu changes, and discontinued or depleted items. Assist with prep work, dishwashing, cleaning tasks, and other kitchen support duties as needed. Promptly report Member concerns, injuries, accidents, or other high-risk issues to Management. Promptly report employee and personal (“self”) concerns, injuries, accidents, or other high-risk issues to Management. Follow Company control procedures to safeguard equipment, inventory, and other assets. Participate in daily pre-shift meetings and all mandatory staff meetings.
