Job Details Level: Entry Position Type: Full Time Education Level: High School Salary Range: Undisclosed Travel Percentage: None Job Summary/Controls Under the general supervision of both the Chief of Police and Security, and under the technical supervision of the Radio Communication Center Supervisor, the Communications Officer receives complaints and messages and dispatches responses as necessary. No supervisory responsibilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Answers all telephone calls, including but not limited to, complaints and warrant checks; logs each according to established procedures. Generates and maintains a complaint control card for each complaint received. Files reports and cards as required. Makes warrant checks and obtains information from the Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV). Dispatches calls to police officers in the field for appropriate responses. Serves as dispatcher (non-certified) and Communications Officer (certified). Operates computer and other communications-related equipment. Monitors R.C.C. Alarm printer. Activates EMACS for emergency maintenance calls. Performs other related duties as assigned.
