NHS Professionals seeking a dedicated and experienced Bed and Site Manager to oversee operations within Watford General Hospital. You will be an experienced nurse, credible role model and have the ability to influence as well as innovate. The successful candidates will be responsible for day to day capacity management for services/pathways, will play a key role in ensuring capacity planning for the site is robust and will have experience of operational and service improvement management within acute health care. In addition they will fulfil a crucial role in fostering excellent communication and collaborative working between clinical specialties, optimising available resources to ensure patient safety and flow.

JOB SUMMARY

• Accountable for service delivery for the site capacity provision within the Trust -To proactively manage Site capacity in and out of hours, ensuring that safe and effective decision making occurs to streamline the patient journey at admission, transfer and discharge.
• To provide real time capacity information to internal and external stakeholders through the provision of accurate reporting including situation reporting and escalation management systems.
• To deliver professional and operational priorities from a corporate perspective -To support senior colleagues across a spectrum of general and operational management issues aimed at managing overall capacity and patient flow.
• To maintain a leading role in the management of clinical capacity to accommodate elective and emergency admissions.
• To facilitate staff and team development and ensure effective communication systems operate corporately.

SKILLS

• Proven experience in a senior managerial role within the NHS.
• Extension experience within Bed Management within the NHS.
• Evidence of effective resource management.
• Awareness of the NHS agenda at a national and local level.
