Falkbuilt Ltd. is looking for a dedicated team player with excellent technical knowledge and experience to join the team as a Health and Safety Specialist. Falkbuilt Ltd. is an exciting *Digital Component Construction company headquartered in Calgary. We are a fast-paced, entrepreneurial company that needs high energy, hardworking and motivated individuals on our team.
In this role, you will assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of health and safety processes and programs built to assure compliance with existing federal, provincial, and local health and safety regulations and requirements on Falkbuilt premises.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of 3 years of Occupational Health and Safety experience required.
• NCSO, CRST, or CRSP designations considered an asset.
• Experience in a manufacturing / construction facility is preferred.
• The ability to work without supervision, take initiative and communicate effectively with team members and other business units and departments.
• Must be Intermediate First Aid Training certified as a minimum.
• Experience in training and mentoring leads on safety protocol.
• Well-developed communication skills, both oral and written.
• Demonstrate the ability to conduct investigations that comply with corporate standards and required external legislation.
• Experience in US Safety rules and regulations or willingness to learn an asset.

• Ability to take responsibility for i.e., develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive Safety Management System.
• Act as point of contact with OHS Alberta regarding Occupational Health and Safety matters and WCB for Injury and Claims Management.
• Assist with Injury Management and Return to Work Programs.
• Review all legislative standards pertaining to health and safety and continually educate Falkbuilt employees with regards to legislative / industry changes, and internal company policies and procedures.
• Conduct and assist with incident investigations that pertain to any injury, property or equipment damage. Must be able to effectively communicate these matters to all relevant parties on a need-to-know basis to ensure senior personnel are aware of these matters.
• Collect safety statistics relating to leading and lagging indicators and be prepared to share with the team.
• Train all workers against the current Safety Management System (HSE Program) that is in place and support Supervisors as needed.
• Help with routine audits, inspections and risk assessments of current operations to ensure all hazardous acts and conditions are dealt with and risk remains low. Report all findings to Senior Production Manager.
• Regular work and communication alongside the People and Culture team.
• Ensure JHSC meetings are held according to OH&S Legislation.
• Assist with Emergency Response and First Aid, ensuring all workers are trained and are following safety protocol.
• Participate in Safety Orientations for new employees.
• Manage Falkbuilt’s safety platform for reporting and compliance.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Senior Production Manager.
