Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team, reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This role involves overseeing key accounting functions including general ledger management, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, inventory, project-based accounting, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have experience with NetSuite and Avalara, as well as a strong understanding of GAAP and revenue recognition standards.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, with a focus on general ledger management, AR, AP, fixed assets, and inventory.
  • Familiarity with project-based accounting and invoicing.
  • Proficient in Excel and experience with accounting software (NetSuite preferred).
  • Exposure to Chargebee and/or Stripe for subscription management.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
    Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with grant reporting and investor reporting.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to financial management and process improvement.

Responsibilities
  • General Accounting & Financial Reporting: Maintain the general ledger, assist in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes; prepare financial statements and manage project-based accounting.
