Description

Role: Primary Teacher

Status: Permanent, Full Time

Location: Mancel College @ Fig Tree Pocket, Brisbane

Role Commencing: Term 1, 2027

Language Disorder Australia is seeking an exemplary Primary School Teacher to join our award-winning school, Mancel College.

As a Teacher at Mancel College, you won’t just teach… you’ll nurture curious thinkers and capable learners across our Junior School - from Prep to Year 6 shaping them for new learning experiences and adventures.

Working in our junior school with; smaller class sizes, support from an ongoing school assistant and a drop in allied health team, you will provide personalised attention and support to each child.

You will be more than just a teacher, you will be a mentor, a guide and a source of inspiration. Your daily interactions will shape and support the foundation of student's educational journey, developing the literacy foundation they need to connect with and understand other subjects and their peers, now and in the future.

Our students are often underestimated by society, but you will know our students and know that they crave better. They are curious, capable, and ready to achieve more than anyone ever imagined, and you will empower them to realise this potential.

At Mancel College, we believe in the power of curiosity, the joy of discovery and the boundless potential of every student. We’re a values based, active learning organisation dedicated to supporting children and young people with Language Disorder, many of whom have co-occurring disabilities.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

As our Primary Teacher you will:

  • Understand the unique needs of students with Language Disorders and co-occurring disabilities, and can adapt your teaching to support them
  • Make a difference by empowering and advocating for your students’ academic growth and success
  • Use evidence‑based approaches, like explicit instruction, to deliver quality teaching and maximise student learning outcomes.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to implement innovative and adaptive ways of learning
  • Work closely with parents to proactively ensure transparency of student progress

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • Teaching qualifications, QCT registration, Child Safety Checks, experience, and knowledge to be a phenomenal and influential teacher.
  • Experience teaching a range of primary levels, prep - year 6 (desirable).
  • A commitment to professional growth and an eagerness to keep learning and developing your skills.

WHAT YOU WON’T DO

  • Deliver generic lessons. You’ll tailor your teaching to meet the diverse needs of students with Language Disorder and co-occurring disabilities.
  • Work in isolation. Collaboration with therapists, families, and colleagues is key to student success.
  • Overlook the power of inclusion. Every student deserves to feel seen, supported, and empowered in their learning journey.

BENEFITS:

What can we give you in return for your passion:

  • An exceptionally satisfying experience as you take students on their learning journey
  • Professional Development: Expand your skill set with opportunities for transdisciplinary development, external and internal growth opportunities.
  • More take home pay: How can we offer this? A little-known fact is that as a Not-For Profit organisation, we can offer our employees Salary Packaging options to boost their take-home pay by 6% - 12% per annum (up to $7,500 increase in the amount you take home and spend, rather than going to taxes).
  • Annual salary increment progression PLUS yearly 3% salary increases as outlined in our Enterprise Agreement

More extras: 17.5% annual leave loading, 1 day of paid Health Screening Leave, 14 weeks Paid Parental Leave, Discounts with Medibank Health Insurance, Novated Car Leasing.
