Context Statement: The Division of Emergency Medicine includes the Emergency and Trauma Centre at RDH and the
Palmerston Regional Hospital Emergency Department. The primary purpose is to delivery emergency care to patients of the
Top End and support regional hospitals in quality and training initiatives. The Education Service uses adult learning principles
to engage, support and provide assessment to Emergency Department staff.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: Applies specialist knowledge, skills, attributes and abilities within the Emergency to assist
competency development and identify learning needs of individuals. Supports in the implementation of the Education Service
plan and is recognised by the team for this expertise and is a resource for others. Accountable for providing sound
professional advice and for assessment, planning, review, evaluation and coordination of comprehensive client care and
research. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being
undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
