Raymond James Ltd., (“RJL”) is one of Canada’s leading independent investment dealers offering high quality investment products and services to Canadians seeking customized solutions to their wealth management needs. Reporting to the VP Controller, the VP Finance is responsible for full-cycle accounting functions, financial statement preparation and audit management of RJL; as needed basis, they will also support the accounting functions of the subsidiaries of RJL. This position is responsible for regulatory reporting to CIRO; when supporting the subsidiaries, FINRA, OSFI, and the BC Securities Commission regulation is involved. The VP Finance will collaborate with other Managers of the Finance Department to ensure that consolidated financial reporting is timely and accurate. What will your role be responsible for? Produce accurate and timely Consolidated Financial Statements; Assist with the preparation of subsidiary financial statements, as needed: Be responsible for regulatory reporting and regulatory capital calculations of RJL and assist in regulatory reporting of the subsidiary companies; Establish controls over the G/L ensuring integrity of data and reporting; Oversee the integrity of software systems {Multiview, DSL) that are foundation for GIL and reporting; Manage and review general ledger reconciliations; Ensure financial statements are compliant with IFRS, US GAAP and Company policy; Develop and maintain an understanding of regulations as they apply to RJL and subsidiaries; Work with other Finance Management to optimize staff time and streamline processes to increase the efficiencies of the accounting group; Mentor the Manager Finance, manage staff and provide direction and guidance; Manage the relationship with internal and external auditors; and Other duties as assigned What can you expect from us?
