The Township is currently seeking an experienced municipal professional, with the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the full-time duties of Environmental Services Analyst. Temporarily reporting to the Manager, Urban Stormwater and Streetlights, the Environmental Services Analyst provides technical, analytical and monitoring support of operational activities for the Environmental Services Department. They will design, compile, attribute, edit, and maintain data in the department GIS, SCADA and Utilocate databases as well as establishing and maintaining database quality control and quality assurance procedures. Additionally, the Environmental Services Analyst will provide technical support and training for department GIS users on GIS applications, GNSS equipment, and other GIS related technologies; troubleshoot and resolve problems with GIS, GNSS hardware and software.
What You Bring
The ideal candidate has post-secondary education in Environmental Technology, Civil Engineering, Geography, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or Applied Digital Geography and three years’ experience using ArcGIS/ESRI systems; preferred experience in ArcGIS Collector. In addition, Regulation 128/04 licensing; minimum Operator in Training (OIT) or Drinking Water Quality Analyst is required. Proficiency in Windows operating systems, database management, Office 365, AutoCad, GIS/GPS software, mass storage file techniques, telecommunications, plotters, global navigation satellite systems (GNSS), and field equipment; possess strong analytical, cartographic mapping and spatial analysis skills are imperative.
The position will require the successful candidate to utilize excellent interpersonal, project/time management, communication, and problem-solving skills combined with demonstrated attention to detail along exceptional customer service skills. A satisfactory Driver’s Abstract and Criminal Background Check are also required for this role.
