Job Description: This position primarily involves assisting teachers in performing their duties, as well as attending to the physical needs of exceptional students. The work is performed under the supervision of a teacher and involves supporting both individual students and groups. Key Responsibilities: Provide assistance in classrooms, libraries, shops, laboratories, and other learning environments. Assist with student supervision and management.
Help prepare teaching aids and assemble materials as directed by the teacher. Assist with maintaining student records. Support teachers in fulfilling the instructional, social, and/or behavioral goals and objectives as planned by the teacher. Assist students with transportation to and from school, as well as navigating within the school.
Provide assistance with feeding, hygiene, clothing, and toileting. Care for medically fragile students. Additional Responsibilities: Other related tasks may be assigned as necessary to support the operation of the school. Qualifications: Graduation from high school, supplemented by completion of an approved training course related to the field of work.
Experience or demonstrated ability in working with children, or any equivalent combination of training and experience. Specific training required by the employer to address the special needs of students may also be necessary.
