QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of procurement experience in the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, suppliers, and logistics in the UAE/GCC market (or applicable region).
• Experience with ERP or procurement software is an advantage.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good knowledge of construction materials and supply chain logistics.
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple procurement activities simultaneously.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

JOB PURPOSE:

The Construction Purchaser is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, equipment, and services required for construction projects. The role ensures that materials are delivered on time, within budget, and meet project specifications and quality standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Identify and evaluate reliable suppliers and vendors for construction materials and services.
• Obtain competitive quotations, analyze bids, and negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders in accordance with project requirements and company procedures.
• Monitor and follow up on purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of materials to site.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, delivery, and supplier performance.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and site teams to understand material requirements and project timelines.
• Ensure all materials purchased comply with quality standards and project specifications.
• Coordinate with the logistics and warehouse team for delivery and storage.
• Resolve any issues related to delayed deliveries, quality concerns, or incorrect orders.
• Track and report on procurement status and cost-saving initiatives.
• Assist in developing procurement strategies and maintaining vendor relationships.
