Description

Musgrave is one of Europe’s most successful family-owned businesses, with a rich 150-year legacy in food and brand innovation. We`re proud to serve communities across Ireland and Spain, feeding one in three people every day through iconic brands like SuperValu, Centra, Mace, Frank and Honest, and Musgrave MarketPlace. By supporting thousands of retail and foodservice family businesses, we make a positive impact on the communities they serve. We`re committed to becoming the most trusted and sustainable business in Ireland, and we`re looking for dynamic, forward-thinking individuals to join us on this journey.

As we continue our journey toward becoming Ireland’s most trusted and sustainable business, we have an exciting opportunity for a successful candidate to join our team as an Automation Project Manager (RPA / Intelligent Automation).

This role plays a key role in delivering business-led automation and intelligent automation initiatives across the organisation. It combines strong project delivery expertise with a focus on stakeholder engagement, practical Agile delivery, business transformation, and organisational adoption. The successful candidate will operate in an Agile delivery environment and either act as Scrum Master for assigned projects or be willing to develop Scrum Master capability as part of the role.

You will act as the key link between business stakeholders, Business Analysts, AI & Automation delivery teams, and governance structures—ensuring that automation initiatives are planned, tracked, delivered effectively, adopted successfully, and achieve measurable business outcomes.

Working within the AI & Automation Factory operating model, you will operate within governance frameworks and delivery standards defined at programme level, contributing to consistent, scalable, and value-driven delivery across automation initiatives.

**Please note that this is a 12 month contract

What you’ll be Doing

1. Automation Delivery & Transformation

  • Lead the successful delivery of automation and intelligent automation initiatives across business functions, typically through short delivery cycles and small delivery teams.
  • Drive end-to-end project delivery from opportunity identification through to implementation, adoption, and benefits realisation.
  • Support practical Agile delivery practices, including facilitating daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives where appropriate.
  • Work closely with Business Analysts and delivery teams to ensure work is planned, tracked and delivered effectively.

2. Stakeholder Engagement & Business Alignment

  • Build strong relationships with business leaders, operational teams, process owners, and executive stakeholders.
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring clear communication, alignment of expectations, and effective management of competing priorities.
  • Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, delivery teams, technology partners, and governance forums.
  • Lead cross-functional workshops to understand business objectives, process challenges, and opportunities for automation and process improvement.

3. Governance, Planning & Delivery Oversight

  • Establish and maintain project governance, reporting frameworks, and decision-making structures aligned to AI & Automation Factory standards.
  • Develop and manage project plans, budgets, risks, issues, dependencies, timelines, milestones and resource requirements.
  • Maintain project-level governance updates, timelines, milestones and delivery status within Planview or agreed portfolio governance tools.
  • Use Azure DevOps (ADO) to support backlog management, delivery tracking, sprint planning and reporting, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to stakeholders and governance forums.

4. Adoption, Change & Benefits Realisation

  • Drive business readiness, user adoption, and change management activities to ensure successful implementation.
  • Ensure business benefits are clearly defined, measured, and tracked throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with change and adoption roles to embed solutions effectively within business processes.
  • Monitor performance post-implementation and ensure sustained value realisation.

5. Portfolio Contribution & Continuous Improvement

  • Support the creation and management of automation delivery roadmaps and project portfolios.
  • Contribute to the identification and development of future automation opportunities.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by capturing insights, lessons learned, and opportunities for optimisation.
  • Support the team in adopting and consistently using ADO and Confluence for delivery tracking, documentation and project transparency.

What we’re looking for

  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with the ability to build trust, influence decision-making, align diverse stakeholder groups and drive organisational commitment to automation and transformation initiatives
  • Strong background in project management within technology-led or transformation environments
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement capabilities
  • Ability to operate effectively in a practical Agile delivery environment, supporting short delivery cycles and small delivery teams
  • Willingness and ability to act as Scrum Master for assigned projects where required, or to develop Scrum Master capability as part of the role
  • Strong organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills
  • Confident using delivery and collaboration tools to support transparent planning, tracking, documentation and reporting
  • Adaptable, resilient, and focused on delivering measurable business outcomes

Experience & Requirements

  • Proven experience managing business transformation, digital transformation, process improvement, or automation-related projects
  • Demonstrated experience engaging and influencing senior stakeholders across multiple business functions
  • Strong track record of managing projects involving multiple stakeholders, competing priorities, and organisational change
  • Experience working with Business Analysts and delivery teams to plan, track and deliver work across practical Agile and waterfall delivery environments
  • Experience maintaining project governance updates, timelines, milestones and delivery status within Planview or agreed portfolio governance tools
  • Practical experience using Azure DevOps (ADO) for backlog management, delivery tracking, sprint planning and reporting
  • Experience using Confluence or similar collaboration tools to support documentation, delivery transparency and knowledge sharing
  • Experience managing third-party suppliers, partners, and delivery vendors
  • Strong understanding of business process improvement, operational efficiency, and change management principles
  • Experience managing project budgets, benefits realisation, and performance reporting

Desirable Experience

  • Experience delivering Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Intelligent Automation, or Digital Transformation programmes
