This is a newly created position within our Technology Services team which is undergoing a process of growth to improve standardisation, enhance security, compliance, ensure our platforms/practices are robust, consistent, and future-ready.
Reporting to the Data, Architecture and Security Manager within Technology Services, this pivotal role leads the development and implementation of enterprise IT architecture frameworks and policies while providing strategic guidance to enhance the efficiency and alignment of the technology landscape with the Diocese’s mission, values, and goals.
The salary for this position is around $130,000 per annum excluding super. However, the successful candidate’s salary offer will reflect their relevant skills, experience and potential in the role.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Diocese enterprise IT architecture programme and processes, creating a comprehensive IT architecture and landscape that aligns with the Diocese’s mission, operational plans, and future goals.
• Define and document standards and guidelines for technology solutions, making strategic decisions to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, goals, and objectives.
• Establish and maintain current-state and target-state IT architecture views across application, data, technology, and security domains, supporting integration and consistency across the organisation.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:

Experience/Criteria

• Technology leadership and strategic thinking – ability to align IT architecture, security, and strategy with business goals, while challenging conventional approaches.
• Enterprise architecture expertise – strong skills in IT architecture, security, business process design, and enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF.
• Regulatory compliance – understanding of Australian laws and standards including ISO/IEC 27001, NIST, Essential Eight, and the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
• Stakeholder engagement – ability to build effective relationships with external stakeholders including vendors, partners, and regulators.
• Business acumen – ability to translate business needs into effective IT architecture and strategy solutions.
• Continuous learning – commitment to staying current with IT architecture, security, and strategy trends.
• Framework knowledge – familiarity with ITIL, project management, risk management, and IT governance best practices.
• Sector experience – experience in religious, not-for-profit, social services, education, or similar sectors is valued but not essential.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology; or an equivalent combination of knowledge gained through education, training and /or experience.
• Current Class C Driver’s Licence.
• NSW Working with Children Check for paid employment.
