Senior, Fire Protection Engineer LAPORTE is looking for a Senior Fire Protection Engineer with ideally 7 to 10 years of experience in the design and implementation of fire protection systems, to join our team in Toronto. Responsibilities Perform code analysis and ensure compliance with applicable standards (NFPA, NFC, and local regulations); Design fire protection systems (sprinklers, suppression systems); Prepare technical documents: drawings, specifications, reports, and calculations; Provide technical support during construction: coordination, inspections, and commissioning; Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, process, building) to integrate fire protection systems into projects; Participate in meetings with clients, contractors, and partners to ensure quality and compliance with requirements; Mentor and guide junior engineers and professionals within project teams. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Building Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or another relevant specialization; Licence Engineer of Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) or Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) ; 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in fire protection, ideally within the industrial sector; Strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards (NFPA, NFC); Ability to manage complete projects, from design through commissioning; Excellent communication skills; bilingualism (French/English) is an asset; NFPA membership and/or CFPS designation are considered strong assets.
