We are looking for an Underwriting Coordinator to join our Individual Underwriting team. The Underwriting Coordinator is responsible for consolidating detailed medical evidence and managing data and reporting related to facultative insurance shopping. This role involves close collaboration with the Underwriting team to draft letters, ensure compliance with reinsurance contracts, and prepare and organize medical evidence for assessing morbidity and mortality for Life and Living Benefits insurance. Key responsibilities include allocating and monitoring workflows to identify opportunities for streamlining underwriting processes and assisting underwriting management with various operational initiatives. You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. What you’ll do: Ability to prepare and support the delivery of FAC Cession reporting and assembling of evidence that is material to reinsurance contracts Ability to analyze and quickly understand the stage of the underwriting cycle to organize and coordinate medical and financial evidence Responsible for reviewing, investigating and resolving issues relating to medical and financial evidence used in both manual and auto underwriting processes Ability to allocate work and monitor workloads and identify opportunities to streamline underwriting workflows Proactive management of data and evidence related to morbidity and mortality assessments Provide reporting to Management relating to volumes, cycle times, and other required metrics.
