QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s degree in business, International Trade, Supply Chain, or related field.
· 3–5 years of trade compliance or import/export experience in manufacturing (required).
· Strong knowledge of U.S. trade regulations (CBP, BIS).
· Experience with customs valuation, classification, and country-of-origin rules.
· Proficiency in ERP/trade compliance systems (SAP preferred).
· Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
· Preferred: Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) or Certified U.S. Export Compliance Officer (CUSECO).
ABOUT THE ROLE
Seeking a Trade Compliance Specialist (Compliance Analyst III) to join our U.S. manufacturing site in Morton Grove, IL. This role is essential in ensuring that all import and export activities comply with U.S. government regulations and corporate trade policies. The Compliance Analyst will help manage risk, maintain compliance, avoid penalties, and support smooth supply chain operations for both raw materials and finished goods.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Ensure compliance with U.S. trade regulations, including EAR, ITAR, OFAC, and CBP.
· Accurately classify goods, components, and technology using HTS and ECCN codes.
· Prepare and review import/export documentation (invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin).
· Oversee daily shipments and coordinate with freight forwarders and customs brokers.
· Serve as the primary point of contact for brokers and carriers.
· Conduct internal audits to validate compliance and recordkeeping accuracy.
· Screen third parties against restricted and denied party lists.
· Support duty optimization programs such as FTAs and duty drawback claims.
· Provide compliance training and guidance to procurement, engineering, and sales teams.
· Contribute to process improvement initiatives and compliance automation projects.
