JOB SUMMARY
Royal Navy Family and People Support (RN FPS) is an integral part of Navy Command’s People Support Organisation offering a range of specialist services to Naval Personnel, their families, and wider military communities across the UK and Overseas. RN FPS has four key priorities of Deployment Support, Visiting Officer role, Crisis Intervention, and Safeguarding. These are achieved via our 3 Pillars of Delivery being, Casework, Community Development and Outreach, and Information Support.
The Community Development Worker (CDW) must be professionally JNC qualified and will be expected to ensure that professional policy and practice is maintained in the delivery of local community projects and are responsible for the delivery of the four key national community pillars: Youth work, Play work and Youth Forum work, local Deployment Support Events (DSE) and national Forces Families Events (FFE), Volunteers, and Partnerships.
The Professionally qualified JNC Community Development Staff will be part of a national team Working from the Naval Air Station at Yeovilton, providing support to the National Community Development Manager, in the delivery of community work projects in order to achieve the aims of the Organisation.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Community Development Worker (CDW) will support the Community Team in the delivery of local and national projects, including Youth work, Play work and Youth Forum work, local Deployment Support Events (DSE) and national Forces Families Events (FFE), Volunteers, and Partnerships.
An essential element of the role will be to work directly with other agencies and potential users to initiate, develop, maintain and deliver a range of provision, including building-based and outreach work. This involves face-to-face and on-line delivery with members of the community, during daytime, evening, weekend and holiday periods.
