This is a unique role that supports a system-wide approach.  The post holder will work in partnership with commissioners and contracted equipment provider and front-line staff to influence and improve community equipment provision and assistive technology across services.   The aim of the role is to support to challenge and change prescribing practices across health and social care by, improving the knowledge and understanding of prescribers and partner agencies in the effective use of community equipment and assistive technology.   The post holder will be knowledgeable about community equipment, and comfortable working with data and IT systems.   You will lead multi-agency prescriber forums and develop and nurture relationships within and across partnership agencies. You will also demonstrate a strong commitment to staff development in relation to community equipment provision and assistive technology The Person We are looking for a qualified Occupational Therapist with significant post qualifying experience and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). You will need to have excellent communication, leadership, and managerial skills, alongside experience of working within a health and social care setting. You will also need to be passionate about supporting vulnerable adults and delivering a high-quality service in relation to community equipment provision. You will support the embedding of evidence-based decision making for equipment provision and work jointly with colleagues from acute hospitals, community health and social care professionals involved in prescribing community equipment. As an autonomous practitioner, you should have extensive knowledge of community equipment and assistive technology its role in supporting people to live independently in the community, maintain engagement in meaningful activities and participate in occupational pursuits The ideal candidate will be dynamic, analytical, and able to manage competing demands effectively.
