POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Supervisor – Landfill Operations and guidance of the Coordinator – Waste Diversion is responsible for assisting with tasks and duties related to the recycling depot operation at the Landfill Site, including providing customer service, and general site maintenance. Also responsible for co-ordinating the community clean up trailer program. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Educates landfill customers on proper sorting techniques Provides friendly and courteous customer service Removes non-recycle materials from recycling bins Cleans litter and debris in and around the landfill site Directs vehicles to landfill area, recycling centre, household hazardous waste depot, compost area, and other waste diversion programs. Hands out information brochures. Plan and co-ordinate the community clean up trailer program Inspect vehicles and equipment daily to ensure safe operation Capable of driving vehicles with trailer in tow Must be available to work on Saturday.
