JOB DESCRIPTION
Skyship Services, Inc (SSI) is seeking a highly organized and motivated Associate Program Manager (APM) to support the Program Manager in leading all aspects of a high-visibility Department of Defense (DoD) Aerostat program. The APM will assist in managing program performance across engineering, logistics, production, and sustainment efforts. This role supports overall program execution, risk management, cost/schedule tracking, and ensures alignment with contractual obligations and customer expectations.

SSI is leading the field in Aerostat Capabilities and Aerostat Operations. We are dedicated to support our customer’s mission in Border Security, expanding global infrastructure and threat detection. Skyship Services has an opening for a motivated engineer to join our team and build the next generation Aerostat System. You will work within a dynamic engineering and design team to conceptualize, rapidly prototype, test and implement innovative solutions for the design, fabrication and assembly of Aerostats for Deployment to our Customers. We believe in fast-cycle development and approach to flight hardware development. This unique position allows for hand-on participation through all phases of development.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Program Management, or related field.
· 5+ years of experience in DoD or defense-related program management or technical project leadership.
· Working knowledge of DoD acquisition lifecycle, FAR/DFARS requirements, and program reporting structures.
· Experience with hardware systems (preferably aerostat, unmanned systems, or ISR platforms).
· Familiarity with EVM principles and program schedule tracking tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera).
· Strong organizational, verbal/written communication, and cross-functional leadership skills.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Tools and cost/scheduling tools (e.g., eFAACTs, QuickBooks, MS Project).
· Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
· Self-starter
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
· Location: Akron, OH or Titusville, FL
· Ability to obtain and maintain a Full Time Minimum Clearance Level of: DOD Secret
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· PMP certification or DAU Program Management Level II/III equivalent.
· Experience supporting aerostat or lighter-than-air (LTA) platforms in a government or contractor environment.
· Understanding of Configuration Management, Risk Management, and Quality Assurance principles.
· Familiarity with CMMC compliance and DoD cybersecurity/ITAR controls.
· Ability to work efficiently and independently with limited direction from management.
· Ability to build relationships and interact with external customers
· Ability to multi-task and take on challenging assignments.

Pay: $105,000.00 - $132,000.00 per year

· Support the Program Manager in day-to-day management of program cost, schedule, technical performance, and risk.
· Act as a liaison between internal functional teams (engineering, logistics, quality, finance, program office) and external stakeholders.
· Lead coordination and execution of key program activities, including IPT meetings, contract data deliverables, and customer status reviews.
· Track contract milestones, deliverables, and Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) activities.
· Assist in maintaining Earned Value Management (EVM) reporting and Cost Account Management (CAM) compliance.
· Manage specific workstreams (e.g., logistics, sustainment, systems engineering) as delegated by the Program Manager.
· Support subcontractor coordination, tracking of SOW performance, and risk mitigation.
· Prepare program briefings, reports, and customer communications as required.
· Manage the Risk Database including identification, tracking, mitigation and closure.
· Identify future trends and risks, recommending alternative methods, and implementing selected action plans to drive business outcomes
· Managing and tracking the Contract Line-Item Deliverables (CDRL) to ensure 100% on time deliveries
· Performing business analysis and programmatic activities for a program to inform business decisions
· Conducting manpower forecasting to inform program planning and resource allocation
· Ensure compliance with applicable FAR/DFARS regulations, company policies, and EVMS guidelines.
· Monitor and manage funding profiles, burn rates, and contract modifications to ensure proper alignment of cost and revenue
